Things are progressing.

The donor got her HCG on Sunday. She goes to retrieval tomorrow. I was told she has 11 follicles that look mature. Hoping that we get 11 eggs.

Hubby goes tomorrow also to give his donation.

I had a mini-meltdown tonight. C was at school and I start my PIO shots tonight. I think I have heard way too much about how horrible these are. I was going to give it to myself, but could NOT do it.

I've given myself plenty of shots. Gonal-F, Follistim, Pergonal, Lupron, Lovenox (STINGS). Pergonal is an IM shot. I had to give it to myself a few times during my IVF cycle. HCG - IM. No problem. I think reading about other folks experiences with PIO made me hesitant.

Anyway, we should go to transfer on Friday. I get to take 10mg of valium and drink plenty of fluids so I have a full bladder. Sounds like grand fun, eh?

First time posting but I have been following your blog for a bit. I am 42 and after IF treatments am now adopting. I know how difficult IF can be and hope this works out for you.

Cindy,

Congratulations on adopting your baby girl from China. I was trying to get to your blog, but was unable to.

When are you expecting to get her?

Kellie - We are still early in the process, having just got a LID of 11/9. China adoption is slowing down considerably so at this point we'd be happy to have her home in 06. We had 3 cancelled and 1 failed IVFs, considered donor eggs but in the end decided to move straight to adoption. It is all such a tough road. Not sure why you couldn't link but here's my site: www.blackcatjournal.blogspot.com.

good luck!

I'm just continuing the good wishes I sent on B1. LOL...I didn't realize until this post that you were the one and same Kellie! I can be so obtuse sometimes *rolling eyes*!

Can't wait to hear the fert. report!

Natalee,

You are not in the least obtuse. Thanks for the good wishes :)

Girl, you'd better just give yourself that shot. I've been giving it to myself now for the past 6 weeks!

Hoping for a great fertilization report!

Liana,

I just can't! I don't freaking know why. Just can't do it.

And I notice that I'm not so bright. I repeated myself on the next post@@

So what are you going to do when you get pregnant this cycle? You'll have to give that tushy shot to yourself for 10 weeks!!! Are you going to hire a nurse to come give you a shot every day? ;-)

Just playing! It's not that deep. Just don't use your thigh.

I figure my hubby can do it most nights. He's gotta be good for something, right? Heh. Besides that, I could have one of the nurses in my office do it (the perks of being in a multispecialty group - my OB is right next to me and his nurse could do it).

I know I could do it... but I dont wanna.... Waaah!

I knew you surgeons don't have the intestinal fortitude that we primary care docs do! (wickedly grinning)

This shot is getting real old. February 6th can't come too soon.

Ah, I wouldn't go there! LOL. The residency I went through would kick most people's butts! Hahnemann used to be a kick-ass residency program.. meaning they kicked the RESIDENT's ass. Argh! Guess I"m just getting soft in my old age :)

I use that same line to goad my best friend, Lisa, the one who lovingly calls my ilk, "fleas," and who believes that everything gets better with "cold steel." I beg to differ. ;-)

Gotta yank the surgical chain.

Plus she would tell you how Howard pyramid program was pure Survivor!

So did you give yourself your shot or no?

Why should I give myself the shot when I've got a perfectly good hubby to do it for me? He needs to do this :)

A chance to cut is a chance to cure, ya know? ;)
