I think this warrants attention

Apparently this is the republicans trying yet again to stick their noses into the reproductive rights of women in the US:

"If approved by the Department of Health and Human Services, the rule would broaden the definition of abortion to include the most widely used forms of birth control, which can prevent implantation of a fertilized egg.

The existing abortion definition used by the federal government and medical groups is the removal of a fertilized egg that has successfully implanted in the uterine wall, where it would continue to grow. "

I really really hope this doesn't pass.

I think that it should be up to women to choose their method of contraception, but I know my wife would like to *know* easily whether a particular form of contraception prevents conception or implantation. Maybe a better way to deal with this stuff is to insist on really good labelling, so that women can make up their own minds.
